Happy New Year and all that stuff

Alright, alright, so I have been lazy lately. No wait, that’s a lie. I have been unbelievably busy as of late and well blogging and reading blogs have fallen to the wayside. That’s a big my bad on my part. I am sorry. Yet we have a new year going on right now. I know this because I celebrated in style with my friend’s Katie, Brian, Omar, Mike, Neil, and Jeanette. Basically this party fell together at the last moment or I probably would have been hiding in my bed very early that night. New Year’s is one of those holiday’s that just doesn’t do it for me. Why?

Every year we make a resolution and 95% of us (not based on any scientific data analysis) give up on our resolution within a month if not a few days. I hate going to the gym the month of January. EVERYONE who has made that obscene resolution to lose 15 pounds has come and invaded my calm with their over zealous dedication, which will ultimately dry up because they are setting goals while realistic, that won’t show results in a few days. Or they have gone in strong, probably too strong and are burned out within a week. Not good either. However, while they are present at the gym they are making my life miserable taking “my” locker and “my” elliptical. I am lucky with work that I can go to the gym whenever I want so at least I can try to avoid the crowds, but it is still a pain in the butt.

This year my “resolution” is simple. I am going to enjoy life. Try to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Not overindulge in sweets, but indulge in them from time to time. I will try to be nicer to my friends, accepting the fact that sarcasm and snark are part of who I am so I will not beat myself up if/when I fail. I will try to be a better me, but still be me. Oh and try to write more often, you know when I have free time.

Anyway, thanks for sticking with me. Happy New Year. Enjoy some random Brian pictures.

  1. Id be one of those people using your elliptical thus my resolution was simply to walk more. Im blessed to live in an area with moderate winter temps, no snow and incredible views. I also have a very overweight dog and I don’t think a gym would appreciate Buffy in the steam room so I will walk her too. Happy New Year – hoping 2013 has great things in store for you.
