D-Blog Week Day 2: I need more

Dblogweek

I know some people thought I was going to take a pass on today’s post and take one of the bonus options for today’s prompt. I choose to stick with the program. Granted this post should have come earlier in the day, but I was busy. That is all I can say. I was actually having fun, fun today.

Today’s prompt: Recently various petitions have been circulating the Diabetes Online Community, so today let’s pretend to write our own. Tell us who you would write the petition to – a person, an organization, even an object (animate or inanimate) – get creative!! What are you trying to change and what have you experienced that makes you want this change?

We, the undersigned People with Diabetes (PWDs) (well mainly me and a few others) and caregivers and loved ones of us do hereby petition the maker of Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups to make their awesome treats carb free, but still taste awesome. I mean let’s be honest here. HOW AWESOME WOULD THAT BE??? I realize this is a pipe dream of mine, but I think this petition has a better chance of going through and being somewhat acknowledged.

Think about how awesome it would be though to be able to enjoy the yummy goodness of a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup without having to worry about the adverse affects of eating one. I mean I would be happy as a pig in mud.  Reese2Someone recently gave me this box and I was excited, but saddened that so much planning had to into making these bad boys disappear. So I want one that I can eat with no consequences. Fine give me the calories, I can run those off, but get rid of the carbs and none of that poop inducing sugar free stuff. This is what I want….

While we are at it, I want a petition for this is as well to be carb free.

  1. Great request! If there was one treat that I’d wish would be carb-free, this would be my choice as well. And I’m glad you forbade the sucralose workaround. I once at a whole bag of the sugar-free peanut butter cups (not Reese’s) and then got really close and personal with the mens’ room at Prudential Center in Newark. And seeing as how I’ve said too much already, I’ll be quiet now.

    • Why do I think you either mentioned something like this to me before or may have hinted at it in a blog post. Yet for us, it is a stupid mistake we make once or twice or maybe thrice… But yeah it happens. We learn and we avoid the end results from our end… HAHAHA.

  2. poop inducing. haha.

Thanks for sharing. The sugar free reese’s cups taste weird and yes, may induce pooping. haha

your voice is awesome. I would sign your petition!

    • Thank you kindly. Yeah, this was an easy petition to think about writing. Oh to be able to eat all of that yummy goodness without any ill effects. That would be AMAZING. One day.

    • You and I are thinking the same. I thought I had put those thoughts there or implied it, but I may have only been having those dreams in my head as I typed.
